Getting electrical products approved

Electrical Safety Authority

Applies to: Ontario

If you sell electrical equipment, display it or have it plugged in, at your business in Ontario, the equipment must comply with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. There are two ways you can get your products approved:

Get "field approval" from the Electrical Safety Authority that will give you a certified label for your products
Certify your products through an accredited testing authority like the Canadian Standards Association.
